Absolutely not! We offer classes for all levels, from absolute beginners to intermediate dancers.
- Beginner level is best for those who have little to no experience. Absolute beginners. Those who are taking a dance class for the first time, or the first time in a very long time with very little memory of previous instruction.
- Open-level classes are for anyone. Absolute beginners and intermediate level dancers. Please note: open-level classes will be moving at the pace of the learners in the room. All are welcomed
- Intermediate level is best for people with some knowledge and memory of previous dance terms. Intermediate levels is also for those who have already been taking consistent dance classes at SCD.
- Absolute Beginner classes are for those who may want a slower beginner experience, a shorter class, and an easier transition back into the dance world. Absolute beginner classes are a transition class. Intended to move dancers forward and into the beginner level.
We cater to a variety of tastes! We offer ballet, modern, jazz, tap, conditioning, stretch, leaps & turns, hip hop, and African dance classes.
As an Adults-Only studio, our dance family is diverse! Our dancers typically range from 25 to 55 years old.
Signing up is easy! You can register online through our website's "Register" or "Schedule" page, or by downloading our mobile app from the Apple Store or the Google Play store.
Not at all! We provide all the necessary equipment for your classes. However, you're welcome to bring your own dance shoes or attire if you prefer. We kindly ask that you wipe down any equipment used with the provided sanitizing wipes.
Yes! We have convenient changing rooms, clean bathrooms, and a comfortable lobby area for you to relax before or after your class. We also have water fountains to keep you hydrated. We sell fruit juice (no sugar added, fruit popsicles, and have a vending machine. Wifi is available upon request as well
We accept payments in-house and through our mobile app. You can choose from several options:
- Drop-In Rates: Pay per class you attend.
- Unlimited Memberships: Enjoy unlimited access to classes throughout the month.
- Memberships (Credit Based): Purchase a set number of credits valid for a specific period.
- Limited Memberships: Enjoy a discounted rate for a set number of classes.
Class credits, memberships, and retail purchases can be exchanged or returned for account credit only, which can be used for future Second Chance Dance purchases. Refunds will only be processed for accidental charges or damaged merchandise at the time of purchase.
We understand that unexpected things come up. Should we need to cancel a class, we'll do our best to notify you at least two hours beforehand via email. This could be due to reasons like:
- Extreme weather conditions (snow, hail, etc.)
- Flash flooding that may impact instructor travel
- Sudden instructor illness or emergency
Yes, we offer optional dance recitals at least once a year. Participation is not mandatory, but it's a wonderful opportunity to showcase your skills and celebrate your progress.
Yes! Free street parking is available on weekdays and weekends in the surrounding area. Additionally, some streets have paid parking options if street parking is full.
