Wear Your Costume to Dance Week

It’s spooky season at SCD! 🎃

October 25–31, 2026

All week long, dancers are invited to wear a fun, creative, or festive costume to class and bring a little extra personality to the studio. Keep costumes dance-safe and movement-friendly so you can still fully participate in class. Avoid anything that blocks vision, creates a tripping hazard, or prevents safe movement. **Wearing a costume is completely optional**

Come dressed up, take class, snap some pictures, and have fun with your SCD family. One week. Every class. All the costumes. 👻🩰

How Wear Your Costume to Dance Week Works

There is no separate event registration required beyond reserving your regular dance class. Simply select an eligible class from the Second Chance Dance schedule, reserve your space, and arrive wearing your costume if you choose to participate.

Costumes can be funny, glamorous, spooky, nostalgic, creative, dance-inspired, or completely original. Whether you arrive as a favorite character, an iconic performer, or something only you could have dreamed up, we want you to have fun expressing yourself.

This celebration will take place throughout the entire week, so you may participate in more than one class or wear a different costume each time. One week. Every class. All the costumes. 👻🩰

Keep Your Costume Dance-Safe

Your costume must allow you to participate safely and comfortably in class. Before arriving, make sure you can bend, stretch, turn, travel across the floor, and see clearly while wearing it.

For everyone’s safety, please avoid:

• Masks, hats, or accessories that block your vision
• Costumes that drag on the floor or create a tripping hazard
• Loose pieces that could fall off while you are moving
• Sharp, heavy, or oversized accessories
• Clothing that prevents your instructor from safely observing your movement
• Props that could interfere with other dancers
• Footwear that is inappropriate for your selected dance class
